Wei Wen is a lawyer by training with more than 8 years of legal practice experience. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) Second Class (Lower Division) Honours in 2007, and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2008. Thereafter, he practised at David Lim and Partners, starting out in the area of practice in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Oil and Gas, Construction Law and litigation.
He has extensive experience with a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts, drafting of prospectus for initial public offer, sales and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, legal opinions, investment and restructuring agreements, directors and member resolutions, employment contracts and service agreements.
Having spent 4 years in private practice from 2008 to 2011, Wei Wen decided that it was time for him to have a switch in legal career from private practice to an in-house legal counsel in 2011. He then joined CGG Services Singapore Pte Ltd as its legal counsel for the APAC region from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, he joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and held the position as its legal counsel in 2015.
Wei Wen’s main in-house practice areas are Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Oil and Gas, Construction Law, Dispute Resolution, Privacy and Data Protection and compliance.
